10 Statements – Sylvester L. Anderson

Hello, my name is Sylvester L. Anderson (just call me Syl).
I am a poet and author of two poetry collections “Life Through Celestial Lenses” and “The Darkness, The Light, And The Glory”. I have been writing poetry since high school and I have grown to appreciate it’s endless landscape of expression. Currently I am working two jobs and writing in between. I’ve met a lot of talented and great people in the writing community and social media. They keep me inspired to pick up my pen and write on. I am in the process of starting on my third poetry collection and looking forward to having it published sometime this year.

My personal motto:

“All things are possible.” God blessed me with a new life, a new perspective, and the talent to write. So, I believe that he ismore than capable of leading me to accomplish what seems impossible.

  1. A typical work day begins with… a talk with God, to get my day going. Shower, light exercise, and of course breakfast.

  3. I have always… wanted to learn how to play the guitar (thanks to The Beatles).
  4. I have never… traveled abroad.
  5. Home means to me… love, peace, family.
  6. I am inspired by… God, my mom and sister, and by some of the wonderful people I have met through social media.
  7. I would like to meet… anyone who is inspired about life and encouraging other people or Michael Sweet from the Christian rock band Stryper. (Their music has seen me through some tough times).
  8. My worst character trait… is waiting until the last minute to certain things, but I’m getting better.
  9. My best character trait… is encouraging others, just letting them know it’s going to be alright.
  10. The best advice I was given… was by my mom. She told me not to do something with that poetry. Hopefully I have.

  1. Lovely post, Karen & Syl! I too am a Beatles fan… I would highly recommend picking up a guitar. I’ve found it can be very therapeutic if you’re having a bad day and just fun to play as well! 😉

    • Absolutely. 🙂
Have you heard of internet radio “Radio KYA” (San Francisco). Awesome to listen to ‘Breakfast with the Beatles’.
