In a cold cemetery just outside American Fork, Utah, zombie slayer Ranger Martin sets his trap, four gas drums strung together and the barrel of his shotgun acting as the fuse. The undead crowd erupts in a blaze of body parts. If only all of Ranger’s enemies would die this way. What Ranger doesn’t know is his greatest foe may not be a hungry horde after all, but a vicious fiend bent on destroying the planet.
They came from the sky. No one knew what to call them. By that time, it was too late. The dreaded lights from their ships plunged the world into darkness and everyone from Oregon to Virginia had disappeared. Now, with the towns and cities empty, no one will be able to stop the invaders’ brutal assault on the survivors. That is, no one except for Ranger Martin and a group of young tagalongs eager to once again reclaim the globe as their home. Together, they fight the elements, kill alien and zombie alike, and liberate the weak from their military oppressors. But will Ranger have enough time to defeat another wave of silver ships screaming toward Earth before it delivers its fatal payload? Or will he succumb to the whims of a sadistic, power-hungry general obsessed with eliminating anyone threatening his plans?

As the gap closed ahead with the undead wanting to keep the metal beast all to themselves, Ranger shifted the vehicle to drive and said, “This is gonna hurt.” He floored it. The tires squealed in the mud and smoke from the exhaust filled the air. It took off in anger, burning a trail through the crowd, cracking skulls, smashing ribs and splattering green everywhere. When Ranger glanced at his rearview mirror and saw what he and Randy had done, he bellowed with laughter, then cried a “Yahoo!” before the brake lights disappeared over the hill into the night.
This story introduces you to Ranger Martin. He is a dedicated zombie fighter. Ranger, Matty, Jon, and Randy continue their mission… I cannot tell you more about the story as it would spoil the fun of reading it yourself.
With Ranger Martin And The Alien Invasion, Jack Flacco presents us with the second volume of a fast-paced zombie adventure. This story is as cleverly elaborated as the first one, has a pleasant flow, focuses on its protagonists and their strategy to save the human race, as well on ethical values. Jack Flacco describes his characters’ looks in not too much detail, their personalities are more detailed – you can see them clearly before you. I was drawn in, felt very close to the protagonists and the events. I could easily envision the characters and locations. I had a very good time reading Ranger Martin And The Alien Invasion.
Ranger Martin And The Alien Invasion is very well written and – you can read it yourself as of 2014-10-21!
This is a book to read again.
