  1. well I must tell you that when I clicked on the post I was surprised that you picked such short quotes by this stud! and delighted – cos so often he is quoted by scholars and well, that is great and all – but to read these dense little nuggets – bravo – bravo.
I like #2 most – and another one of his Like is about how when we lose a loved one it is not something we get over, it is something we adapt to – like the loss of a limb (something like that).

    • It is always a spur of the moment decision. Sometimes I prefer longer quotes. This time, I opted for shorter quotes. I saw them and just knew I had to share them in this blog post. Thank you very much for the praise.
The second quote is indeed very important, as is the quote you mention. This one and something like “Gone, not forgotten.” is very comforting.

      • yeah – I agree with you about the gone but not forgotten – and I think he also was just trying to tell people that we do “get over” the loss – we learn how to carry on differently – ya know?
anyhow, again, nice choices 🙂 hugs

  2. They’re great, all three, Karen, but I have to say No. 3 is most important to me today. Tomorrow, maybe No. 1! Day, after, I’ll make room for No. 2. Thank your for the T.S. Trio.

  3. I like the first quote here. 😊
I’ve had a drink in the pub in Oxford where C.S.Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien used to meet. I felt very literary! 😉🍻😊

    • We all need to keep this first one in mind, Karen. 🙂
Who knows, 10 years from now, readers will comment: I’ve had a drink in the pub in Oxford where C. S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien used to meet and which was visited by Karen Soutar before publishing her NN book! ⭐

  4. I attribute CSLewis for my love of reading and ultimately writing! I remember listening to my teacher read LW&W in class and being breathless, 1. With excitement and 2. Didnt dare breathe in case I missed anything. Prince Caspian, Voyage of the Dawn Treader (my fave) and that was it… totally lost in the realms of fantasy and been there ever since!

    • This explanation is the most wonderful reason to thank a writer, Ali!
Every little praise for our work makes us happy. I’ll never forget that moment, reading for the first time: “I liked your story, thanks for sharing!”
Your praise for C. S. Lewis is at least as valuable as a prize – it states a reader’s highest appreciation.
