Technologically incompetent Madeline has to use her random psychic ability to track down a secret identity of an avatar from the most advanced game technology on Earth, or her best friend will be killed. During the process, she falls for Ciaran, a man who possesses more dangerous secrets than the kidnapping ordeal she has already tangled herself in.
This is the first installment in an urban fantasy thriller series, filled with paranormal romance and science fiction twists and turns!

Jo was like her sister. They had grown up together, but they might not grow old together.
Madeline kept staring at the bus. It was real. It was enormous. And her psychic ability didn’t seem to help at all – if she didn’t have such ability.
Random Psychic introduces you to Madeline Roux. Anxious to save her friend Jo, doubting her psychic ability she is on the lookout for a certain avatar. Her adventure is a fun mix of urban fantasy, thriller and paranormal romance; the book has a pleasant flow. The genres are well balanced.
With Random Psychic, D. N. Leo has created an entertaining first instalment of a new series (A Shade of Mind), the characters aren’t described in too much detail, despite that you can easily imagine them; they have virtues and flaws, are quite believable. D. N. Leo takes us on a journey, pretty close to Madeline. I was drawn into the story, an invisible observer, cheering her on, shaking my head, chuckling, etc. Random Psychic is a good read for urban fantasy suspense fans, appreciating a touch of paranormal romance.
This is a very pleasant read, the promising start of a new series.
