Halley’s Gift explores the lives of extraordinary fictional characters and through the stories you will have the opportunity to meet these unique people. Here are some of the characters you’ll read about:

Halley a fifteen year old girl struggles with how to use her powers or whether she even truly has the gift her spirit guide believes she’s obligated to develop.
Commander Hadley has extraordinary flying skills, but will discover what is truly most important when he faces death.
A con artist, Jack lives a flawed life, but he manages to be a hero and be true to himself.
An ex-con as Leslie learns must overcome odds stacked high against her; one simple act of kindness creates a friend that helps.
Mother of two, Kelly will break the law, but you judge for yourself whether justice is served.
Her testimony puts her in the witness protection program. Elysha is brash and brave. She does the right thing, but her reward is an unexpected one.
Some of us are lucky and some are luck itself: Lucky McGregor makes his own luck and if you’re lost he’s the dog you want looking for you.
Genius can be a curse, but William finds a way to harness his extraordinary gift, however, the challenges nearly overwhelms him.
And finally, Victor learns that when forces threaten those you care about most, heroics emerge.

These characters and the people around them provide distinct tales about extraordinary talents, gifts, and skills, coupled with courage.

I hope you will reflect on your own distinct value, your extraordinariness, and learn to use it in the best ways possible.

People generally react negatively to the way Halley interacts with animals. They fear that she has some power over the animals and might use it to do harm, but nothing could be further from the truth. Halley has a kind, gentle soul.

My Opinion

Halley’s Gift And Eight Other Extraordinary Tales gives you the opportunity to dive into the lives of interesting people and their stories; each tale has its own pleasant flow.

With Halley’s Gift And Eight Other Extraordinary Tales, Carey V. Azzara introduces you to the different main characters with their flaws and virtues; each of them described in enough detail to understand why they act the way they do. I was drawn into the tales as an invisible observer, didn’t in the least want to be interrupted while ‘being’ in one of the stories. These tales will stay in my thoughts for quite a while. Halley’s Gift And Eight Other Extraordinary Tales is a great read for readers who appreciate food for thought and/or like to dive into a story and for short story collection fans.

This is a more diversified collection of short stories, introducing you to ten extraordinary main characters and their stories.

In brief:

Writing Good
Plot Some twists
Mood Suspenseful
Pace Steady
Characters Developed
Violence Some violence
Sexual content No sexual content (some hints)
POV Third person

    • You’ll undoubtedly enjoy these short stories. I was grumpy when forced to stop reading in the middle of a story. Hooray to self-publishing, then. 🙂

      • This is an excellent idea, Craig. You cover several genres – a great opportunity to show off your writing skills and gain more readers.

    • Halley’s story impressed me a great deal. I ‘met’ real people. The stories are very well written; most readers will not complete the book without thinking longer about what they read about.
