There is no cure. The change is permanent. Whoever says they can fix this is wrong. Months ago, billions of people died in the zombie apocalypse. The survivors either have become refugees looking for a way out or have turned against each other. No one will admit they killed their friend for a package of raisins. It happens though, and there isn’t anything anyone can do about it.
Undead slayer Ranger Martin makes the unforgiving Arizona desert his home. He has never had to defend it. He has never had to kill anyone for it. If anything, he has shelved his shotgun and has taken an early retirement package.
That is, until now.
When the military lays siege on his silo, Ranger and his crack team of professionals–a bunch of kids, really–have no other choice than to run. But after he discovers a map that may lead to a mythic city called Paradise, where neither army nor zombie can invade, Ranger mounts a cross-state journey to find the place of safety before the others find him and it’s too late.

The kids gazed at the opening of the stairs where moments ago a fireball had consumed everything in its wake. A silhouette appeared from the smoke. Solid. Firm in its stance. When he took a step forward, the remnant of the garage lights shining from above caught and revealed his face – Ranger Martin. Zombie slayer. The undeads’ worst enemy.
This story introduces you to Ranger Martin. He is a dedicated zombie fighter. Ranger, Matty, Jon, and Randy continue their mission… I cannot tell you more about the story as it would spoil the fun of reading it yourself.
With Ranger Martin and the Search for Paradise, Jack Flacco presents us with the third volume of a fast-paced zombie adventure. This story is as cleverly elaborated as the previous ones, has a pleasant flow, focuses on its protagonists and their strategy to save the human race, as well on ethical values. Jack Flacco describes his characters’ looks in not too much detail, their personalities are more detailed – you can see them clearly before you. Especially now, in this final part of the trilogy – they seem like family. I was drawn in right away, felt very close to the protagonists and the events, was an invisible part of the story; sharing their experiences – thanks to the intense storytelling. I could easily envision the characters and locations. I had a very good time reading Ranger Martin and the Search for Paradise.
Ranger Martin and the Search for Paradise is very well written!
This is a book to read again; this applies to the trilogy as a whole.
