In UnBlessed, readers met the fiery-tempered Marius Caleo. Raised among Favored society, Marius has everything: wealth, status, charm, and popularity. Yet, he yearns for greater power and independence.

When Marius was introduced to the mysterious Inner Council and offered a secret assignment, he believed he finally found the path to greatness. Unfortunately, their involvement in his future comes with a price …

Now, Marius must decide how far he’s willing to go to achieve his ambitions – because sometimes independence and power don’t go hand in hand.

Teaser

“Good. It’s no coincidence that many of the Favored Blessings are disappearing. Some of them were threats to the Inner Council, threats we’ve worked centuries to control. Which is why this Ice Blessed, this Lucien, is something of a problem. You’ll need to watch him, Marius. The Inner Council is closer to their goals than they’ve ever been.”

My Opinion

This book reunites the readers with some more or less blessed characters: Marius – the Fire Blessed, Lucien – the Ice Blessed, Renelle, Kisara, and – the Elder.

With Fire Blessed, Crystin Goodwin has once again created a thrilling young adult fantasy. It is a compelling read, drawing you in as you learn more about the main characters and past events. Crystin Goodwin paints a clear picture of the main characters’ mindsets while the story evolves. I was drawn close to the protagonists – an invisible guest. The characters are masterly elaborated, of sufficient depth, believable with their flaws and virtues. Even if you do not like all of them, there should be at least one character for every reader to really like. The story has a wonderful flow; it was easy to get hooked.

This is a book for you if you like young adult fantasy, believable and often stubborn characters, and a sense for justice.

The remarkable second book in The Blessings of Myrillia series!

Highly recommended!

    • You are welcome, Crystin! 🙂
Your protagonists’ characters are eerily realistic – I couldn’t help but recognise some acquaintances/friends’ character traits.

      • Wonderful. I usually wait until series are complete before I read them. I love bingeing on the books, and my poor brain loses all the great details if I have to wait for the next release. I’ll keep this one in mind and look for the announcement 😀

    • Absolutely. It was planned as trilogy, Ice Blessed is already available on Amazon. I already saw an offer for this series, Diana.
