My rating: ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ (5 stars)
It’s hard to defend yourself when you have memory lapses, and everyone thinks you are crazy.
Journalist, Megan Roach, is given a story by an old man in a nursing home that could make her famous. When her carefully constructed life starts to unravel, she is forced to confront her childhood demons and the possibility she could be a murderer.
DCI Peter Hatherall uncovers a conspiracy that confronts his own beliefs and goes far deeper than Megan Roach imagined. But can he believe anything she says?

“Have you found our friends?” Dick asked
Taking his seat, Peter replied, “We’d stand a better chance if you told me what this is about. If I knew who your friends were hiding from I would know where to start looking.”
This book reunites the readers with DCI Peter Hatherall and DI Fiona Wiliams as they try to solve a puzzling case.
With Twisted Truth, Diana J. Febry has once again created a thrilling British mystery with expertly woven plot lines. It is a compelling read, drawing you close to DCI Hatherall and DI Wiliams as they proceed with their investigation. Diana J. Febry paints a clear picture of the main characters’ mindsets while the story evolves. I was again drawn close to Peter and Fiona and – enjoyed deeper insights in some bizarre characters. They are of sufficient depth, believable with their flaws and virtues. The story mainly focusses on journalist Megan Roach, her having her own ways, and the situations she is getting herself in. Even if I would have made different choices, I just had to keep my fingers crossed for her. The story is an expertly woven combination of British mystery and human behaviour, and has a wonderful flow; it was easy to get hooked.
This is a book for you if you like (British) mysteries with thorough investigation, calm and impressive storytelling, as well as complex and believable characters.
The excellent fifth book in the Peter Hatherall Mystery series!
