About

Welcome to my blog!    🙂

This blog is destined to show my train of thoughts regarding miscellaneous topics.  Sometimes I am inspired by events around me, sometimes I am inspired by the news.  My posts will be written quite spontaneously.  Two recurring topics are and/or will be ‘book reviews’ and ’10 statements’

My personal motto:

Don’t look back in anger!

10 statements

A typical work day begins with…  black coffee and my schedule.
I lose track of time…  when I am reading.
I have always…  wanted to live in Ireland.
I have never…  been bored.
Home means to me…  being with the ones I love.
I am inspired by…  almost everything.
I would like to meet…  (and discuss with) the Dalai Lama.
My worst character trait…   impatience.
My best character trait…  open-mindedness.
The best advice I was given…  keep an open mind.

Best regards from a confessing book addict.  😉

  7. Hi Karen, connected with you in Twitter and followed you to here from there…I’m more a new bloggie than a Twit…no idea what to do there 🙃

Like the blog so hope you don’t mind a new follower here too 😊

    • Hi Gary, welcome – the more the merrier! 🙂
I just hopped over to your blog and – yay you have a new follower as well. Great blog posts, great quotes; I am looking forward to reading more.

      • Thanks Karen…and thank you for popping over and doing likewise 😊
Only been here since January so still learning the trade, as it were…. Thanks for the positives…. Really appreciate that 😊

  8. Karen, I thought I was following you! All sorted and look forward now to receiving your posts – I love your statements. Have you ever been to Ireland? I’ve been there many times on business and each time decide I want to move there – the people, landscape, sense of humour! I felt the same about Scotland, Greece, Italy, Sweden…so many places and not enough of me!

    • No harm done, Annika. 🙂
Would you like to be featured in my ’10 Statements’ series – just get in touch and I’ll send you the specifics.
Ireland is my all-time energy source. Returning means coming home, being at ease, finding inspiration…
We might one day end up in Skerries – for good. Skerries is my blog’s background, you can even see one of the Skerries Mills.
      One day…

    • Hey there, thank you very much for this honour! I am glad to learn that you enjoy my blog posts as much as I enjoy yours. As I have a tight schedule, it might take a while to post an award blog post. It will not be forgotten. 🙂

  10. Thanks for following my blog, and I’m sorry it has taken me so long to respond (a book rewrite and all that). I can relate to losing track of time when reading – a lot of times I will look up and more than an hour has passed, and my husband is wondering where my brain is!

    • Welcome, Noelle!
There is hardly a better reason than the rewrite of a book. 🙂
Reading and writing are definitely addictive ‘tasks’.

    • It’s great that you can relate to my attributes, Marian. Book addiction is certainly one of the most harmless ones.
May we share lots of interesting posts! 🙂

  15. What a similarities we have, I read them and think about myself. Continue being inspired and inspire me. I love being inspired. Have a nice evening.

    • Thank you very much, Dennis. Inspiration, motivation and dedication are a great trinity and – I’ll do my best to keep inspiring you all. Wishing you a nice evening.

      • Dedicating motivation and inspiration to people is great…I love do to so in my work, with friends and family.
        Thank you
